So it finally happened, y'all! My sister and I went on a month long European adventure, traveling through London, Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Florence, Venice, Salzburg, and Munich.
Warning: If you are traveling the world with someone for a month, make sure it's with someone you love. Thank god we are sisters. (Aka - it's 24/7 together time. You will be more annoyed by this person than you ever have been in your life).
Our first stop on this trip was LONDON.
So we got off the plane and, of course, it was pouring down rain. Great start to this adventure, right? No umbrella and wearing the worst shoes possible for this situation. We quickly realized, neither of us had brought sneakers on this trip. Our first stop in London you ask? The Nike store.
My biggest piece of advice from our first stop in London would be to bring comfy shoes! I'm talkin bring some serious freaking walking shoes because that's all you will be doing. I brought a couple pairs of flats & sandals and, oh boy, was that a mistake. I threw 2 pairs of flats away and bought a pair of converse in London that I wore every single day for the rest of the trip.
Oh, just hanging with BIG BEN.
Loved walking the streets of London.
Reminded me a lot of New York City - heavy traffic & fast-paced.
This was the hostel we stayed at in London. We had a blast at this little pub and met some awesome people from all over the world. The bar on the bottom floor closed late at night for only the hostel residents. I would highly recommend The Green Man if you are looking for a decent hostel to stay at in London.
The Tower Bridge was obviously a must.
We took a tour through Windsor Castle. One of my favorites of the London stop. I would definitely go check this out!
I just had to....
I'm an architecture freak... probably took 100 pictures alone on this stuff
Gates to the Buckingham Palace!
We probably stood outside for a solid hour hoping to see William & Kate... it didn't happen.
... this guy.
Hung out by The National Gallery of London.
We loved The Natural History Museum.
Walked through Hyde Park - it was beautiful.
The one thing I regret... not taking a quick ride on the London Eye!
Warning: the food here is not the best. I'll even admit, I might have had McDonald's at one point...
Fish & chips is a MUST though.
Touring the Queen Elizabeth Olympics Park for the 2012 Summer Olympics!
Our next stop... PARIS.
